19TH CENTURY STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY 'HEARTY GOOD FELLOW' TOBY JUG, the toper standing holding a foaming jug of ale and holding his pipe across his chest. 28.5cm high. Unmarked.
CONDITION REPORT: Some paint flecks and losses to particularly the gentleman's green jacket and to naturalistic base, crazing overall as expected, no obvious other major significant damage, cracks or restoration.

The Commanders issued in Limited Editions between 1915 and 1919, designed by Sir F Carruthers Gould, comprising Lord Kitchener, holding a jug inscribed 'Bitter for the KAISER', 24.5cm high, Admiral Beatty, holding a shell inscribed 'Dread Nought', 26.5cm high, Field Marshall Haig, seated upon a tank, titled 'PUSH AND GO' to the base, 26cm high, Admiral Jellicoe, holding a jug inscribed 'HELL FIRE JACK', 26cm high, Marshall Joffre, holding a shell inscribed '75mm Ce que joffre', 26.5cm high, Lord French, holding a jug inscribed 'French Pour Les Francais', 25cm high, the Rt. Catalogue Description.
WILLIAM MCKINLEY TOBY PITCHER. American, Late 19th Century. William McKinley is depicted on this pitcher in a Napoleon-style hat and sitting on a throne-like chair. Draped over his lap is the McKinley Bill, a tariff act he sponsored as a Congressman and which lasted only a short while before Democrats fiercely opposed to tariffs replaced the bill with a more free market policy. On either side of the pitcher's base are key words from McKinley's doctrine, Prosperity and Protection; and on the back, the campaign year 1896. - 8 3/4" high x 7" deep.
Condition Report: Good condition, with one chip on the handle edge, crazing and an underglaze hairline crack to the rim of his hat.

Catalogue Description.
Three English Toby Mugs 19th century each depicting a gentleman with a stein.
Condition: Each in overall good condition with varying degrees of shelfwear and crazing.
From left as viewed in photo:
Largest good, without cracks or repairs. His impressed mark to base. Crazing most notable on back near handle.
Middle sized also good. Having a chip and an area of repair to the upper edge of his hat. Crazing heavier than on larger example. Base not perfectly flat, figure "rocks."
Smallest having obviously detached mug. This figure also with repair to right arm and some minor flakes to top edge of hat. Examination under UV light confirmed the listed condition issues but did not reveal any additional issues.
